❋The Kama'aina Housing Plan
Sept 4th, 2026Young locals solving affordable housing in one day.
What to Expect
Everyone has an opinion about why you can't afford a house here. Almost nobody has been inside the buildings. So we're putting 50 young locals on a bus and visiting the building blocks of our islands - low, middle, and high. Then we hand you a map of a real neighborhoods and ask where it goes.
❋ The Goal Our bus tour will visit three different sites, showcasing different building blocks of our counties. By the end, you’ll leave with the basics of what makes up our communities, and more importantly, share your vision of what the future of Hawai‘i looks like.
❋ Who This Tour Is ForAnyone interested in shaping the future of housing, but with particular voice given to Hawai‘i’s future: young locals 40 and under.
❋ Expert FacilitationLed by the team at Housing Hawai‘i’s Future, you’ll learn from experts in the housing industry to help YOU develop the plan and vision of your our communities.
