HANU SMS Terms and Conditions
Housing Hawai'i's Future Last updated: Aug 2026
1. About this program
Housing Hawai'i's Future ("HHF", "we", "us") operates an SMS text messaging program for members and supporters who have asked to receive text messages from us. These terms govern your participation in that program. By opting in, you agree to these terms.
2. What messages you will receive
When you opt in, you may receive text messages from HHF about:
Legislative and advocacy alerts, including hearing notices, testimony opportunities, and bill updates
Invitations and reminders for HHF events, programs, and volunteer opportunities
Updates on HHF's work, housing news, and campaign progress
Fundraising and donation appeals in support of HHF's charitable mission
3. Message frequency
Message frequency varies. You will receive no more than 2 message campaigns per week.
4. Cost
Message and data rates may apply. HHF does not charge for these messages, but your mobile carrier may charge you for sending or receiving text messages depending on your plan. Check with your carrier if you are unsure.
5. How to get help
Email: info@hawaiisfuture.org
6. How to stop receiving messages
Text STOP to any message from us at any time. You may also text UNSUBSCRIBE or CANCEL. You will receive one final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed, and we will not send you further messages unless you opt in again.
If you want to rejoin later, you can opt in again through the HHF HANU signup form, or text START to the number you previously received messages from.
7. How to opt in
You can opt in by submitting your mobile number through an HHF signup form, event registration, or petition where SMS consent is explicitly offered, or by texting the keyword shown in an HHF call to action. Consent to receive text messages is never a condition of donating to HHF, attending an HHF event, or participating in any HHF program.
You must be 18 or older, or have permission from a parent or legal guardian, to opt in.
8. Carriers and delivery
Supported carriers include AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, Sprint, Boost, U.S. Cellular, MetroPCS, and others. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Message delivery is subject to effective transmission by your mobile carrier and is not guaranteed.
9. Changes to your number
If you change or deactivate your mobile number, you agree to notify HHF so that we do not send messages intended for you to someone else.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be available at hawaiisfuture.org/sms-terms, with the date of the most recent update at the top.
11. Privacy
Your information is handled according to our SMS Privacy Policy, available at hawaiisfuture.org/sms-privacy. In short: we do not sell or share your mobile number or your consent to receive messages with anyone for their marketing purposes.
12. Contact
